Climate Energy, scooped Growing Business of the Year award at Essex Countywide Business Awards for the second year in a row.
Over the past few years Climate Energy have rapidly increased in size and new appointments have enabled them to further develop and improve their profile with key external stakeholders. With a constantly growing installer network they continue to improve their relationships with local authorities across the country and engage with the business sector.
On the night of the awards a new acquisition was agreed. Climate Energy bought Creative Environmental Network (CEN) based in Croydon. Like Climate Energy, CEN is an organisation delivering a range of services to engage householders, businesses and communities in environmental and social improvement. Both have a track record of successful project delivery in sustainable energy, fuel poverty, biomass and renewable energy consultancy.
Historically Climate Energy has concentrated its advice centre efforts in Essex, Hertfordshire and East Anglia. Andrew Holmes, Climate Energy’s Managing Director, commented, “The combination of CEN and Climate Energy will allow us to increase the breadth of our advice offerings to include London and Kent, and positions the group to deliver our customers the widest range of advice and services available from a single provider in this market place. This will ensure that the combined customer group will receive the benefits of the resources of a much larger organisation immediately.”
The acquisition follows the Climate Energy management buyout in July last year. The management buyout signalled the beginning of a new growth phase for Climate Energy. “This purchase is a natural step in growing our business across the UK,” says Andrew. “We will now be focused on ensuring that the overall business strategy continues to maximise business results and successes by building on the strengths of each company”.
